A Vote of Confidence on the Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe was passed by the House today, after having taken a division. 117 votes were cast in favour, while 0 votes were cast against it.
The Motion which appears as item no. 1 of today’s Order Paper was moved by the Hon. Sajith Premadasa and seconded by the Hon. Mangala Samaraweera. It reads as follows:
“That this House resolves that Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, Member of Parliament commands the confidence of Parliament to function as the Prime Minister”
